To overcome the shortcomings of low conductivity of MOF in electrocatalysis, we constructed a two-dimensional MOF-metal organic layer (MOL) on conductive multi-walled carbon nanotubes (CNT) through a solvothermal synthesis method. The redox active MOL supported on CNTs effectively catalyzes the electrochemical oxidation of alcohols to aldehydes and ketones. And this CNT/MOL component also confers selectivity between primary and secondary alcohols through designed interfacial interactions.
